Maypop Events

Welcome to Maypop, let me introduce myself I’m Karina I have always enjoyed organizing events and have over 25 years experience of doing fundraising events for where I live and surrounding area. I have done various different events over the years from Fetes, country Fayres, pampering, outdoor theatre, markets and so much more. I’ve always wanted to do my own events but never got around to it, with bringing up my sons as well, so I thought it was time to do so. Let me give you some background on myself: I have a retail background (at one stage my job was to help the shops on my patch make money)and I’m a family history researcher, which actually makes a very good combination. I have always been very keen to support local independent businesses, which I try to do as much as possible in all the events I have put on over the years. Sometimes for more unique products or produce, we may have to look for them further a field for. Within our own household we all run independent small businesses. So let’s talk about food first, I am a very keen experimental cook, cooking from scratch, meals, baking, desserts, canapés etc. Even Christmas in our house is all about the food, making it special. Now let’s move onto crafts, I do a little bit of crafts myself when I find the time. I’m also a writer mainly fiction. So why the name Maypop well it means the edible fruit of a passion flower. So to me it’s about being passionate about what I do. Life is all about good events, good food, bringing people together, to enjoy good company. But it is also very important to support independent businesses and hobbyists, to fulfill their dreams as well. Karina
